Practice your “PICK UP” routine

OK, now don't all go out and cheat on your spouses.

Let's look at golfing practise and why it is done. A lot more can be achieved by spending one hour on the practise range than two rounds of golf put together.

If you actually added up the time you spent on playing shots during the course of a four hour round it would probably be little more than 30 minutes. This means that you only really need to concentrate for a short amount of time for each of your shots.

So you can feasibly play two rounds of golf in a one hour practice session.

So why not use your time valuably and "PICK UP" a club whenever you can. There is nothing to stop you practicing, it is only your desire and commitment that will decide how much you practice and how that will help you play better golf.

So lets say that you want to play 2 rounds per week. This can be broken up over seven days.

Monday 5 minutes putting in the office
Tuesday 5 minutes practice putting at home
Wednesday 5 minutes using a golf chipping net in the garden
Thursday 5 minutes chipping in the park at lunchtime
Friday 5 minutes Driving into a practice net at home
Saturday 5 minutes thinking about how you are going to play the course on Sunday
Sunday Play a round of 18 holes

You see!!! If you really want to you can "PICK UP" a club almost anywhere and anytime to practise your golf and it can take as little as 5 minutes per day.

To polish your "PICK UP" routine always have a putter at home and in the office, always have an iron in the boot of the car and always keep your driver handy in the house.

This is meant to get you thinking that only five minutes per day will allow you to play at least one extra round per week and this will, if done week in week out, improve all aspects of your golf game.

I hope you have enjoyed this drill and now we can move on to another great practice tip. This one is called Play Golf Anywhere Watch out for the next drill which will give you some ideas of how and where you can put this drill into practice.

All the best
